Million Dollar Dream - EmbroidMe East Tamaki
Million Dollar Dream - EmbroidMe East Tamaki
When Wayne Strong first took over EmbroidMe
East Tamaki back in late 2007 he said he wanted to reward
the person who spent the 1 millionth dollar with him. He
didn’t expect it to come around quite so fast, but it did,
on 17th November 2009. “We appreciate the business of all
our customers, but there could only be one who spent the
millionth dollar, and it happened to be Nova Therm” Mr
Strong stated at the presentation. “We are pleased to be
able to mark this milestone by rewarding a valued
customer.”
The lucky recipient of a Christmas hamper plus over $500 worth of complimentary caps with their logo embroidered on them was Nova Therm, a manufacturing company based in East Tamaki. “We are very surprised to receive these caps and were more than happy with the products and service we had received to date. We will definitely be placing further orders in the future” said Paul Vujcich, Managing Director of Nova Therm. EmbroidMe East Tamaki had just completed a substantial clothing order for the team at Nova Therm. In ongoing discussions caps were something that was being considered for the New Year. “It seemed like the obvious thing to me”, Mr Strong confirmed. “We specifically chose something that we knew they were interested in, and would get a lot of use from”
EmbroidMe is a brand which is managed in New Zealand by the Business Franchise Group. Despite the challenging trading environment over the past 18 months, the group has grown to 8 stores across New Zealand, and the group’s growth has been pleasing. Greg Longstaff from the Business Franchise Group says “we are lucky to have passionate owners like Wayne who go the extra distance with finding solutions for their customers. We attribute this and our varied product range for brands success over the past year”.
EmbroidMe East Tamaki has gone from strength to strength this year, despite the doom and gloom merchants. “Turnover is actually up over 19% year to date compared to the previous year at the end of November, which is not bad for a recession is it?” Mr Strong does not deny that trading conditions have been tough for some companies. The demise of a number of their own direct competitors bearing witness to the difficulties experienced by many in 2009. However it would seem that making yourself more visible to your customers during tough times is something that a lot of companies have taken up with some enthusiasm. Mr Strong advised “People are realising they need to ensure that staff uniforms are up to scratch in order to portray a professional image. As well as being good at what you do, you need to look the part as well. We have even had some businesses that have been around for many years adopting a uniform for the first time.”
