New Office Bearers for the Association

At the Motor Industry Association’s Annual General Meeting held last week Mr Alistair Davis, Chief Executive Officer of Toyota New Zealand Limited, was elected unopposed, as President. This position is normally held for a two year term.

To assist Alistair members appointed into the position of joint Vice President, Mr Trevor Auger, Managing Director of the Ford Motor Company of New Zealand Limited and Mr Mark Gilbert, Managing Director BMW Group New Zealand.

Alistair joined Toyota in 1979, holding numerous positions both in New Zealand and overseas. In 2001 – 2003 he was assigned to Toyota Motor Sales in Los Angeles working on a variety of assignments including the launch of the Scion brand in the US. In 2008 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Toyota New Zealand Limited.

Trevor has been involved with the motor industry for more than 25 years, firstly through finance companies, including Marac and NZI Finance; then joining Mazda and from there to Ford. He was appointed Managing Director in late 2008.

Mark has worked with the automotive industry for more than 20 years both in New Zealand and overseas, including time with the BMW Group in the Philippines. In addition to the MIA Council, Mark is on the Executive Committee of the New Zealand Business Council for Sustainable Development.
