Hamilton Direct Flight Connections with Asia, UK
Cathay Pacific Provides Direct Flight Connections to Asia
and London from Hamilton
Cathay Pacific
has confirmed today that they are going to connect the
central North Island to Asia and Europe - direct from
Hamilton.
The services will utilise the existing Pacific Blue Sydney and Brisbane flights to connect with Cathay Pacific flights from the Australian ports to Hong Kong, China, Asia, Middle East, UK, and Europe.
The announcement of services come as a result of a recent interline agreement signed between Pacific Blue and Cathay Pacific.
Airport Chief Executive Chris Doak said “the vision of connecting the central North Island traveller with Asia and beyond has taken a giant leap forward today. Cathay Pacific’s announcement supports the regions long term desire to connect to Asia, and also Pacific Blue’s investment in it.”
“People will be able to fly direct from Hamilton to the world. The central North Island now has easy access to world destinations via reputable and reliable airlines, on top of the traditional Australian connection already provided” Mr Doak said.
The current Pacific Blue schedules mean Cathay Pacific can offer some good connections, twice a week via Sydney and twice a week via Brisbane on to Hong Kong and then on to their network to China, Asia, Middle East, and Europe.
To celebrate the launch of this new service, Cathay Pacific has released a special fare of $2091.00 to Cathay Pacific’s eight destinations in Europe. This fare includes fuel surcharges, but not government/airport taxes which vary between destinations, from $62 on a return ticket to Rome to $198 on a ticket to London, Heathrow.
One of the advantages for regional travellers is the free car-parking offer for international flights available to the international traveller.
As part of Cathay Pacific’s commitment to the region they have taken up sponsorship of Balloons Over Waikato, a premier event in the region.
