IHC Workers Continue Action Over Wage Freeze

IHC Workers Continue Action Over Wage Freeze

What: Picket by community support workers

When: 11.30am, Wednesday 14 April

Where: IDEA Services South East Auckland Office, 33 Lambie Drive, Manukau

Community support workers employed by intellectual disability provider IHC are continuing their action to get a wage increase.

Tomorrow [Wednesday 14 April] workers in Manukau East will hold a picket outside the Idea Services office in Lambie Drive at 11.30am.

The Service and Food Workers Union has been negotiating with IHC since last October. The Union is seeking a 2% pay increase and IHC is offering a 12 month pay freeze.

Tomorrow's action is part of a five week long ongoing dispute which has included bans on paper work, on driving personal vehicles on employer business, on overtime and on sleepovers during selected nights. In recent days, short stoppages and pickets have been held across the country.
