21 April 2010

“The New Zealand Seafood Industry Council is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Peter Bodeker as the new chief executive of the organization,” says Board chairman Dave Sharp.

“We are very pleased to welcome Peter on board. He has a wealth of experience in the primary production sector and this will add a lot of value to his new role in the seafood industry,” Mr Sharp said.

Peter Bodeker will be responsible for ensuring that the seafood industry has the right structures and policies in place to fully realize the sector’s economic potential in the future. He will be building on initiatives already in place to enable the industry to continue to work collaboratively with Government in maintaining sustainable utilisation of New Zealand’s seafood resources.

Mr. Bodeker is currently the chief executive of the Wood Processors Association and previously held chief executive roles in the dairy industry.

“The New Zealand Seafood Industry Council board is pleased to appoint a chief executive with a reputation as a strong and positive leader,” Mr Sharp said.
