West Coast Energy secures tier 1 contract with Western Power

Northpower Limited, the Whangarei based lines and electrical contracting company is pleased to announce that West Coast Energy, their Perth based subsidiary has signed a 2 plus 1 plus 1 plus 1 year contract for the provision of electrical distribution construction, maintenance and management services to Western Power.

Western Power is a major electricity, transmission and distribution company in Western Australia with assets of AUD$5.3 billion. Fraser Jonker, Regional Contracting GM said “the contract is potentially worth AUD$208 million and is a key milestone in our long term plans”.

The new contract will see Northpower/West Coast Energy working with Western Power in multiple zones across Western Australia. This is a great success for the Northpower/West Coast Energy team who have worked very hard to win this fantastic opportunity. The first projects under this agreement are expected to be issued during April.

The contract will see the West Coast Energy mobilise a further 120 staff to grow from the current 135 employees to approximately 250 staff over the next 12 – 15 month period.
