Dairy Women’s Network General Manager Steps Down

Dairy Women’s Network General Manager Steps Down

The Dairy Women’s Network announced today its General Manager of seven years, Lynda Clark, will step down from her role. Ms Clark will continue her involvement as a Trustee on the Network's Trust Board.

Dairy Women’s Network Chair, Robyn Clements, praised Ms Clark’s outstanding accomplishments.

“Lynda’s management skills, coupled with her extensive agricultural education background and networks, have seen her develop the Dairy Women’s Network into the country’s leading professional development organisation for dairying women.

“The Board has valued Lynda’s ability to successfully manage the Network’s various activities, particularly around our launch of innovative educational opportunities such as Dairy Days and Regional Groups.

“Lynda’s hard work has firmly established the Dairy Women’s Network as a credible and influential group that is helping add value to the business of dairying for both farmers and the industry,” said Ms Clements.

For the seven years Ms Clark has been in the General Manager role, hers was a part-time appointment. From June, the role will expand to a full-time position. Due to personal commitments, Ms Clark chose not to accept the full-time role.

Speaking about her change, Ms Clark said, “It's been a real privilege to have led the management of the Dairy Women’s Network since 2003. This year, in particular, has been a real highlight. We achieved record numbers at our Dairy Days events, plus we’ve signed up major sponsors, including BNZ Partners. It’s been an exciting time and I am looking forward to continuing on in a governance role with the organisation.”

Robyn Clements explained the new full-time role mirrors the growth and expansion plans the Network is looking to achieve.

“The Network has identified a need to expand our educational programmes, particularly in the area of financial management. Additionally, we will expand the number of regional groups we run across the country.

“We are finding women are increasingly looking to the Network to help meet the challenges they face as dairy farmers. Stepping up to meet these expanding needs and adding even more value to the dairy industry will be an important part of the full-time General Manager’s role,” she said.

The Dairy Women’s Network will advertise its General Manager position from 24 April. Position description and application information can be found on the Network’s website: www.dwn.co.nz (from mid-day Friday 23 April).
