Winning streak continues for Auckland realtor

MEDIA RELEASE

Winning streak continues for Auckland realtor

4 May 2010
: Auckland realtor Matty Ma has taken the title of Number One Sales Consultant in Harcourts’ Northern region for the third year in a row and the fourth time in her 12 year career in the real estate industry.
Mrs Ma has established an impressive track record as one of Auckland’s top real estate sales consultants, being named in the Top 20 of New Zealand’s largest real estate group every year since 2003, including last year ranking seventh in Harcourts New Zealand and 10th in Harcourts internationally.

The Harcourts Albany office-based residential and lifestyle property sales consultant was one of a number of individuals and teams honoured today at Harcourts’ Northern Region End of Year Awards function which was held at the Auckland Museum Events Centre and attended by around 400 people.

Other 2009/10 winners in the region, which extends north from Pukekohe and includes approximately 600 Harcourts sales consultants, were Karl Vermeulen from Harcourts Howick, who was named number two for the year, and Trevor Hyland from Harcourts Whangaparaoa, who came in at number three for the third year in a row.

In addition, Lynn Lockhart from Harcourts Papakura Rural office was today named Top Rural/Lifestyle Consultant in Harcourts’ Northern Region for the second year and the award for Top Commercial Sales Consultant went to Andrew Bruce from Harcourts Takapuna. Other notable winners included Leanne Bremner from Harcourts Pukekohe, who was named Harcourts’ Northern Region Rising Star of 2009/10, and Lizzie Simanke from Harcourts Milford who won the inaugural award for Top Property Manager in Harcourts’ Northern Region.

Originally from China, Mrs Ma has achieved more than $200 million in settled sales since joining Harcourts in 2001 and predicts that after a “hard” 2009/10 the property market will “rock” this year.

“I think the bad news is already behind us - for example the recession is over and the tax changes won’t be as bad for property as originally thought - and this year is going to rock,” says Mrs Ma, who was also named the top exclusive lister in Harcourts’ Northern Region for 2009/10 and second equal for auction/tender listings.

Humbled by her awards, Mrs Ma attributes her success to the hard work she and her multi-cultural, multi-lingual team put in and their focus on delivering the best possible service.

Head of Real Estate Operations for Harcourts Australasia Bryan Thomson says maintaining her position as Number One in Harcourts’ Northern Region once again is a significant achievement by Mrs Ma.

“Matty is focused, determined and has an excellent work ethic. She sets a fine example to others by working incredibly hard for her clients and providing the highest level of service.

“Once again over the past 12 months she has conducted a phenomenal amount of business in what has been a difficult real estate climate and done it all with a positive and professional approach.”

Today’s event was the first of four regional end of year awards functions Harcourts is having this week ahead of the group’s National Awards at the annual Harcourts New Zealand conference, which this year is being held in Christchurch from 17 – 19 May.
