Waikato realtor continues his winning ways

5 April 2010: Award-winning Hamilton-based realtor Shaun Cosgrave has added more accolades to an already impressive list of achievements, today being named Number One in Harcourts’ Central region and also taking out the region’s Top Rural Sales Consultant Award.

The titles for his performance in Harcourts’ 2009/10 financial year are that latest in a string of local, regional, national and international awards Mr Cosgrave has won during a successful career in real estate spanning more than 17 years.

The Harcourts Glenview office-based sales consultant was one of a number of high-performing individuals and teams honoured today at Harcourts’ Central Region End of Year Awards function which was held at SkyCity Hamilton today and attended by more than 200 people.

Other 2009/10 winners in the region, which encompasses the Waikato, Coromandel Peninsula, Bay of Plenty and parts of the Central Plateau and East Coast districts, were Sue Hooper from Harcourts Cherrywood Drive office in Tauranga, who came in at number two, and Tony Kerapa from Harcourts Glenview office who was named number three out of more than 300 sales consultants in the region

In addition Paul Sanford from Harcourts Rotorua was today named as the Top Commercial Sales Consultant in Harcourts’ Central Region for 2009/10, rookie sales consultant Murray Wills from Harcourts Hamilton Central City office won the title of Rising Star of the Year and the Top Property Manager award was taken out by Denise Lilley of Harcourts Huntly office.

Head of Real Estate Operations for Harcourts Australasia Bryan Thomson congratulated all of the teams and individuals honoured at the awards for their efforts during what had been another challenging year.

“While in the major metropolitan centres the real estate market improved last year, in provincial areas the market has still been very tough, particularly in the rural sector, so to achieve success despite these challenging conditions is a testament to the attributes and efforts of all those who have  received awards today.

“Harcourts’ Central Region number one Shaun Cosgrave exemplifies this.  After building an impressive track record as a successful residential sales consultant he has successfully transferred his knowledge and skills to the lifestyle property sector, coupling that with the hard work and drive required to get the best outcome for his clients.”

The latest accolades for Mr Cosgrave follow the achievement of a major milestone in September 2009 when he set a new record for the Harcourts group - reaching $500 million in settled real estate sales, the highest amount ever achieved by a sales consultant in the international real estate group’s history.

Mr Cosgrave, who in 2007/08 was named Number One Sales Consultant in Harcourts’ inaugural international awards and last year, following his transition into lifestyle property sales, was named Harcourts New Zealand’s Top Rural Sales Consultant, 5th in New Zealand and 8th internationally, says he is proud of his latest awards success.

He attributes it to hard work, good customer service and his passion for real estate.

“I have a real love of the real estate industry and a genuine desire to help my clients achieve their goals. That gives me strong motivation and a clear focus which has contributed to my success,” he says.

Today’s event was the second of four regional awards events Harcourts is holding around the country ahead of the group’s National Awards function during Harcourts New Zealand’s annual conference, this year being held in Christchurch from 17 – 19 May.
