Retail team steps up a gear in North-West Auckland

Retail team steps up a gear in North-West Auckland

Bayleys Real Estate Auckland has appointed Mike Singh as retail sales and leasing consultant focusing on the evolving North-West Auckland market, one of this country’s fastest growth areas.

Singh joins Bayleys after cementing a successful 12-year real estate career with rival firm, Harcourts. Having also owned and operated several thriving retail businesses over the last decade, Singh has experience across the retail property spectrum and understands the challenges facing landlords and tenants.

Bayleys retail team leader Ed Donald says Singh’s appointment boosts the 10-strong dedicated retail team in Auckland and will give breadth to the service that the team offers.

“With Auckland’s north-west recognised as being one of the region’s fastest growing areas, it was natural for us to seek out a specialist retail sales and leasing agent with extensive networks to be based in that area,” Donald said.

“Mike’s broad practical experience in marketing, construction, development, finance and investment will enable him to work closely with key people – both landlords and tenants – in meeting their property objectives in this dynamic part of Auckland.”

Singh says the retail/trade sector in north-west Auckland needs to keep pace with residential growth and consumer demand.

“Through my own business dealings and in helping others realise their goals, I understand the fundamentals that must be in place for a business to thrive,” he said.

“In the recent challenging economic environment, smart retailers have sensed the opportunities and made a move banking on being in the right place when the retail fundamentals fall back into line. I look forward to working alongside both landlords and tenants in making positive steps to ensure that they are ready to ride the next wave of growth,” Singh said.
