Winners will be announced at the dinner at the Sky City Grand in Auckland on Friday, June 11.
The Wolfson Fellow to Cambridge University will also be announced then.
Thank you for entering and special thanks to the 37 judges who worked through more than 1300 entries comprising more than 5000 examples of work.
This public announcement of finalists allows four weeks in which to organize flights and accommodation for those from out of town and for everyone to book tickets.
It is an honour to be a finalist – congratulations to you all – and whether you go on to win or not, you should be there.
Please note that where there is only one finalist, that does not necessarily mean winning the award. In some cases judges have elected not to award a winner.
The guest speaker is Australian journalist Tony Maniaty, author of Shooting Balibo – Blood and Memory in East Timor. The last journalist to make it out alive before the Indonesian invasion, he was a consultant to the current movie Balibo and is senior lecturer in international journalism at the University of Technology Sydney.
