New flagship duty-free stores opened at Auckland Airport

DFS and JR/Duty-Free unveil new world-class shopping experiences

Travellers heading overseas from Auckland Airport can now experience the pleasure of two world-class duty-free shops, with JR/Duty Free and DFS opening superb new stores in the international departures area.

The two new stores have been designed to deliver an individualised and interactive shopping experience, reflecting the best of New Zealand.

Auckland Airport general manager retail & commercial, Adrian Littlewood, said, “We’re incredibly proud of the new duty-free experience at Auckland Airport. We think travellers will be impressed by the new range of brands and products, some exclusive only to international departures, the appealing retail experience, and the great deals on offer.”

The new stores showcase new and exclusive brands, cutting edge fit-outs featuring distinctive New Zealand designs, and a high level of engagement with customers. Also incorporated are tasting bars in each store, dedicated electronics zones where you can try before you buy, and beauty bars where you can get a personal makeover.

Mr Littlewood said, “Each retailer has taken their own unique approach to store design and fit out which has resulted in two recognisably different stores – which is great for customers and delivers a real buzz to the shopping experience.”

DFS and JR/Duty Free are now positioned after security processing and as a result, both have completely excelled in utilising this more relaxed and increased space to deliver an exciting sensory shopping experience. Their dedication to deliver a range of value deals on an extensive range of highly sought after brands and products will ensure Auckland Airport is a truly unique and inspiring shopping destination, for all travellers to enjoy, no matter their budget.

JR/Duty Free and DFS will stock an extensive range of local and international brands and products at tax and duty free prices, including: alcohol, fragrance, cosmetics & skincare, electronics and confectionery.

With the food & beverage areas, the public farewell hall, the emigration area and now the duty-free shops all revamped, we think we’re starting to deliver on that promise.
