Choice Hotels Opens Four New NZ Properties

Choice Hotels Australasia is ramping up its commitment to the New Zealand hospitality scene with the addition of four hotels including its first properties in Nelson and Timaru

Two of the new properties are located in Christchurch: The Marque Hotel Christchurch – Clarion Collection, a brand new property located right in Cathedral Square, as well as the Econo Lodge Canterbury Court, just 2.5km from the centre of the city.

The Marque Hotel Christchurch Clarion Collection offers first class Kiwi hospitality, innovative cuisine and stunning views as it occupies 15 floors of the South Island’s tallest building. New Zealand’s first The Marque Clarion Collection is a high-end hotel with 171 smart guest rooms and suites, a stylish bar and restaurant and the last word in design and technology throughout.

Also in Christchurch, the Econo Lodge Canterbury Court is the first appearance in New Zealand for the Econo Lodge brand, which provides clean, comfortable, affordable rooms. Choice Hotels, which has 10 Econo Lodge properties in Australia, plans to open several more Econo Lodges across New Zealand in coming months. Econo Lodge Canterbury Court has 20 ground-floor studio and two-bedroom units all set back from the street, ensuring a quiet environment.

Nelson’s newest hotel is the Quality Hotel Leisure Lodge, located within seven minutes walk to the city centre, and only a 10 minute drive to Nelson Airport and Tahunanui Beach. Choice’s first hotel in Nelson city has 76 studio, one and two bedroom suites and apartments. It also features the ‘Leisure Lodge’ restaurant and bar offering guests chef-created meals at great prices.

Finally, Choice Hotels will welcome the Comfort Hotel Benvenue in Timaru into its family of properties on June 1. The hotel, which has 26 studios (some with balconies), two one-bedroom, one two-bedroom, a VIP suite and The Residence, also offers conference and wedding facilities for those visiting South Canterbury.
