Don McKinnon a very safe pair of hands for Museum

The Newmarket Business Association is delighted one of its largest members, the Auckland War Memorial Museum, has appointed Sir Don McKinnon to be its interim director.

"This is an inspired choice. Sir Don will bring an element of gravitas to the position and will help the organisation consolidate and move forward,” says Cameron Brewer, chief executive of the Newmarket Business Association.

“He is highly respected and has worked with people from all walks of life. There has been a lot of pain up on the hill over the past couple of years but Don will be a greater healer. He has a reputation for being fair and has always been seen as a safe pair of hands.

“He was the perfect Deputy Prime Minister as he always put the task at hand ahead of any personal ambition. Hence he will be the perfect interim director for the Museum at this time,” says Cameron Brewer.
