Gull Petrol Prices Fall With Higher Value Dollar

Gull Petrol Prices Fall With Higher Value Kiwi Dollar

Auckland, 16 June 2010 – Gull New Zealand announced today a two cent per litre drop in its petrol prices. Some Gull sites are now up to 7 cents below opposition outlets.

“The strengthening of the Kiwi dollar over recent days has enabled us to reduce petrol prices for mid-winter motoring,” says Dave Bodger, General Manager of Gull New Zealand.

“International fuel prices are up in the last few days, but we have also been fortunate with currency movements and so we have an opportunity to pass on these savings. Some companies would just swallow that surplus revenue, but Gull will take each opportunity it can to pass savings along to the motorist,” notes Bodger.

Gull traditionally price below the major oil outlets with a low cost base. By making use of Gull’s self service technology and lower-cost bio fuels, Kiwi motorists can save up to seven cents per litre compared with the large oil companies.

Current fuel prices at Gull:

Gull Regular Plus (91 Octane) $1.689
Gull Regular 91 $1.699 with some sites at $1.659
Gull Force 10 (98 Octane) $1.829 with some sites at $1.789

Prices are applicable at the majority of outlets Gull where Gull controls the retail price
