HP South Pacific Announces Senior Promotions, Restructure to the Imaging and Printing Group
AUCKLAND, New Zealand, 22 June 2010 - Hewlett-Packard (HP) today announced that Hamish Alexander has been appointed to Country Manager for HP Imaging and Printing Group (IPG) in New Zealand.
In this role, Hamish provides oversight for all the organisation's activities in New Zealand, as well as having direct responsibility for Inkjet Web Solutions (IWS) and LaserJet Enterprise Services (LES).
"This is an exciting time for HP IPG as we continue to develop innovative products and services that are shifting the way that businesses and consumers think about printing," says Alexander. "In my time with HP, I've seen the company move from a printer business to a printing business, and this has led to us being able to offer even more tangible benefits to our customers. I'm excited about my new role as part of a team of talented professionals who are focused on providing the best print solutions in the market."
In the last five years, Hamish has worked in a number of roles within HP including Supplies Sales and Marketing Manager in New Zealand, IPG Business Development Manager and Business Manager Retail Photo for both HP South Pacific and HP Asia Pacific. Prior to joining HP Hamish worked as the Sales and Marketing Manager at Nutech IT in New Zealand.
HP announces IPG restructure in Australia and New Zealand
HP has announced a restructure to its Imaging and Printing Group (IPG), Australia and New Zealand (South Pacific), with changes to its LaserJet Enterprise Services (LES) After Market Sales (AMS) categories.
This restructure will split the AMS group, previously in charge of HP's supplies business, between the Inkjet Web Solutions (IWS) and LES businesses, with all former AMS employees repositioned in either the LES or Sales Operations and Distribution teams.
Additional to this HP has introduced the Sales Operations and Distribution (SOD) division to the organisation, which sees the expansion of the former Sales Operations division to now include all distribution for tier one partners.
"The changes to the organisation will help align to a true printing system view under which the LES and IWS categories will have full responsibility for both supplies and hardware, " said Richard Bailey, Vice President, IPG, HP South Pacific. "This will give the organisation a clear line of sight in driving world-class printing solutions for consumers through to large enterprise customers."
Mal Wun to lead new Sales Operations and Distribution division
As part of the restructure, the role of Mal Wun, Sales Operation and Distribution Business Manager will be expanded to include distribution responsibilities, to ensure that each partner has a strategic plan in place at the system level, as well as to ensure delivery of operational support across IPG Australia and New Zealand (South Pacific).
Wun joined HP in 1998 as a financial analyst, and was appointed Finance Manager of IPG in 2002, before becoming Sales Operation Manager in 2004. Wun created the operations support for Managed Enterprise Services (MES), another IPG sales division, when it formed in 2004. Prior to joining HP, Wun worked as an Accountant in BHP's Malaysian branch.
Rob McCance appointed to Business Manager for LaserJet Enterprise Services
The restructure has also seen the appointment of Rob McCance to Business Manager for LaserJet Enterprise Services (LES) for HP IPG in Australia and New Zealand (South Pacific), effective immediately.
McCance will oversee the complete LES category, which includes all LaserJet hardware and supplies, and will be supported by Jason Su, who will take responsibility for category product management and Emma Pizzey for the sales force.
McCance joined HP in 2004 as the Southern Region Enterprise Sales, where he successfully implemented Direct IPG Print and Multifunction Printers strategy in Victoria, West Australia and South Australia, before becoming the After Market Sales Manager in 2008. Prior to joining HP, McCance held senior IT Account and Sales Management responsibilities at Centari Systems and Commander.
"The level of leadership and expertise that has resulted in these appointments reinforces the strength of the HP in the South Pacific market and the success of IPG in developing world-class printing solutions for our customers," said Bailey.
