Fea Peivi fares well as Silver Secateurs winner

Hawke’s Bay grape pruners were out in force on Friday at Mission Estate Winery competing for honours in the annual Silver Secatuers competition.

All winners received cash prizes and Bacho tools and will go on to compete in the national finals in August that are being held as part of the Romeo Bragato conference being held in Blenheim.

In the Individual Pruning contest, first was Fea Peivi from Pernod Ricard, second was Paul White, a contractor, and third was Rhys Hepi also from Pernod Ricard.

Fea Peivi took his second win in the individual tying section, followed in second place by Andrew Stove of Matua Valley, with contractor, Jaswinder Kumar third.

Pernod Ricard’s Redstone team of Phil O Donnell, Semu Setu and Fea Peivi took out the teams’ competition and as well as cash and tools from Bacho, received the Blake Family Vineyard Trophy.

Two contracting teams took out second and third places: Rupinder Jeet and Paul Brothers respectively.
