Television Advertising Shows Strong Growth

Television revenue for the second quarter of 2010 was $149 million, an increase of $10.5 million or 7.7% from the $138.5 million achieved in the second quarter of 2009. This is the second consecutive quarter of year on year growth for the industry, and a strong signal from the advertising market that Television is more effective and efficient than ever before.

For the first half of 2010, Television has seen revenue growth of $13.9 million over 2009, an increase of 5.4% over the first half of 2009.

Television viewing continues at record levels, and advertisers are getting great value for their money on the medium.

Revenue figures are sourced from returns prepared by TVNZ, MediaWorks TV and SKY Network Television (including Prime).
