Executive Appointment.
John Walker Find Your Field of Dreams Foundation (FYFOD) has announced the appointment of Craig Pollock to the position of Chief Executive. A newly created role, Pollock’s responsibilities will include marketing the Foundation and its services and developing sustainable revenue streams.
Since 2006, Pollock has been Senior Strategic Funding Advisor to the Community Division of Manukau City Council, a role in which he raised funds for community development initiatives including FYFOD. “I have been convinced of the importance of FYFOD since its launch in May 2008, and look forward to working with Sir John and his fellow trustees in building on the Foundations outstanding success to date,” he says.
Chairman Sir John Walker says the Foundation is delighted to have someone with Pollock’s broad range of skills and experience in several key areas. “He comes with a history of measurable success in driving marketing communications and revenue generation initiatives for a variety of well regarded, high profile organisations. We will benefit immensely from his proven record of sponsorship and marketing communications, his fundraising ability and impressive portfolio of management expertise,” he says.
A career Marketing and Development professional, Pollock has provided services to a wide range of public and third sector organizations. He has successfully marketed and raised funds for several of New Zealand’s iconic cultural brands including the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki, the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra. From 1998 – 2000 he was General Manager of First to the Future Limited, a joint venture between the NZSO and Tainui which culminated in sell-out performances in the Sydney Opera House during the Sydney 2000 Cultural Olympiad, and a subsequent eight city tour of New Zealand.
From October 2000, he developed the role of General Manager Marketing and Communications for Plunket, and from 2004, as General Manager Strategic Funding, raised significant new non-government sourced revenues for the organisation.
One of New Zealand’s most experienced managers of not for profit/corporate relationships through sponsorship marketing initiatives, he has been awarded industry plaudits for sponsorship campaigns created for Rembrandt To Renoir (AAG/1993), The Queens Pictures (MONZ/1994) and 5s for Under Fives (Plunket-ANZ/2006)
