SBS Bank Riccarton new and improved

MEDIA RELEASE

22 July 2010

SBS Bank Riccarton new and improved

It has been a busy couple of months for the team at SBS Bank Riccarton with new staff on board, heroic street chases after some “riff raff” raced past the branch with a stolen fundraising Panda and fundraising antics on the street with the barbecue trailer. But the highlight of all the action is Riccarton’s new, improved SBS Bank refurbishment complete with an extension.

The final little finishing touches to the renovations are being completed this week and SBS Bank Riccarton manager Matthew Mark is delighted with the results.
“My staff have had to restrain me at every opportunity from getting my hands on the builders power tools and hammers that have been about the place this month, but they are just so tempting.

“The branch extensions have been very much needed as our customer base and staff numbers have continued to grow since opening our Riccarton Road premises in 2002. The opportunity came to expand into the former neighbouring cycle shop and the team at SBS Bank saw it as a fantastic opportunity to show our commitment to our many loyal members who support us,” Mr Mark said.
“It’s particularly satisfying to be celebrating an expansion and our growth here at SBS Bank Riccarton at a time when some other businesses around us are down-sizing their operations.”

Mr Mark said extensions and refurbishment would once again provide SBS Bank members with a much-needed customer waiting area and open feel, which had “slowly been swallowed up as staff levels increased over time.”
The renovations also allowed staff to work in less confined spaces with more ease and comfort.

Mr Mark said: “I’m a firm believer in team building but team cuddling throughout the work day because of tight spaces can be taking the concept of team spirit just a little too far.”
“We know this month’s work has caused some inconvenience for those coming into the branch and we thank them for their patience during the messy times. Now we look forward to welcoming all our loyal members into our new and much improved surrounds where they will continue to enjoy our exceptional SBS Bank service.”
