HP Appoints New Director to Lead HP Networking in ANZ
AUCKLAND, New Zealand, July 27, 2010 – Hewlett-Packard (HP) today announced the appointment of Darren Read as Director of HP Networking in the South Pacific region (New Zealand and Australia).
Read will be responsible for the combined HP ProCurve and 3Com product portfolio, a cornerstone of HP’s Converged Infrastructure strategy that eliminates silos of servers, storage and networking to create virtual pools of resources designed to optimally run business services.
Based in Sydney, Read will report to Paul Robson, who has recently been appointed Vice President and General Manager of HP Networking, Asia Pacific and Japan.
“HP’s comprehensive edge-to-core networking portfolio provides a full spectrum of solutions that meet the ever-changing needs of organisations today,” said Read.
“I am excited to be leading HP’s efforts in transforming the networking industry across the region, and driving our commitment to helping customers reduce the complexities in their networking environment.
“It is critical that organisations take advantage of innovative technology available to create a network that is open, flexible and robust. This will help to achieve outcomes that matter the most to them, and provide a secure network fabric that becomes the foundation on which they can grow their business.”
Read was previously Services Sales Leader within HP’s Technology Services (TS) division where he was responsible for growing TS Services Sales profitably in Enterprise, Government and Commercial markets for the Annuity and Services Solutions business. He developed and led a strong sales team that contributed significantly to the division’s growth.
As well as his experience in the network market, Read brings with him expertise in the mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) design and build of data centres, Microsoft Technologies and Mission Critical environments. With over 20 years of experience in the IT industry, he has held various leadership roles managing P&L’s, and delivered improvements in both customer and partner satisfaction.
