Woodford Reserve Launches Master’s Collection In New Zealand
Premium bourbon lovers are in for a treat with the launch of the limited edition Woodford Reserve Master’s Collection small batch bourbon in New Zealand.
Only 100 bottles of the handcrafted Woodford Reserve Seasoned Oak Finish will be available in New Zealand from 1 August, and it is expected there will be hot demand from bourbon connoisseurs.
A special pre-release tasting of the Seasoned Oak Finish will take place at the Glengarry Victoria Park store in Auckland on Thursday 29 July. Tickets to the tasting can be purchased via the Glengarry website at www.glengarry.co.nz/tastings.
The Seasoned Oak Finish combines fully-matured Woodford Reserve with barrels crafted from wood that has been exposed to the outdoors for three to five years, creating a delicious, strong bourbon. By comparison, most bourbon barrels are seasoned for three to five months.
Brand Director for Woodford Reserve, Wayne Rose says the Seasoned Oak Finish has a unique flavour, aroma and colour produced by having the longest known seasoning in the bourbon industry.
“By ‘finish aging’ Woodford Reserve in barrels that have been crafted from oak and seasoned for several years, we have created a bourbon unlike any other in the industry. It is the most robust bourbon we have ever made,” says Mr Rose.
Each limited edition bottle of Seasoned Oak Finish is individually hand numbered and presented in a unique bottle inspired by the copper pot stills of the Woodford Reserve Distillery, which dates back to the early 1800s.
The Seasoned Oak Finish will be available in Glengarry stores for $149.90 for a 700ml bottle or by the glass in selected Woodford Reserve bar and restaurant partners nationwide.

Notes to
the Editor:
The Master’s Collection whiskies are extremely limited in quantity and are released periodically at the master distiller’s discretion.
The inspiration for the Master’s Collection is rooted in the rich history and traditions of what are known today as the Woodford Reserve Distillery.
In the mid-1800s distillery owner Oscar Pepper and Master Distiller James Crow studied key processes like sour mashing and charred barrel maturation at the historic Woodford County distillery.
These practises are still maintained in the bourbon industry and today, the Woodford Reserve Distillery is the only of its kind in America to triple-distil bourbon in copper pot stills.
