New Pacific Trade Commissioner sparks change
New Pacific Trade Commissioner sparks change
A new era has begun for Pacific Islands Trade and Invest (PT&I) welcoming Trade Commissioner Adam Denniss.
Adam has just started his 3 year term at the Auckland office and is keen to bring his extensive business background to building Pacific island industries, linking them to New Zealand and global markets.
“I am both honoured and excited to be given the opportunity to work side by side with the Pacific Islands in such an exciting time. I have a passion for business and seeing businesses develop to become successful and all that they can be” he says.
The posting coincides with a name change for the organization formerly known as the Pacific Islands Trade & Investment Commission (PITIC NZ) to Pacific Islands Trade & Invest (PT&I). Along with a new brand identity will also be rolled out over the next 12 months.
“The release of the new branding is indicative of our desire to see change and development. It is a sign of the Commission recognizing the need to adapt and move with the trends of the global trade market and to ensure we are positioned to meet these markets effectively and professionally.”
Adam was previously National Manager for Oil and Gas teams at the Australian Trade Commission where he was involved in developing and representing the Australian Business and Industry into the Global market, including Inward Investment, outward development and export development for both individual business and industry.
Prior to that Adam worked as State Manager for the Australian Trade Commission responsible for delivering the Government’s agenda on trade and its international development, inwards investment and industry development. He holds a Commerce Degree in Corporate and Resources Administration and Business Law with 20 years’ experience managing and developing business throughout the state in both the Tourism Industry and Logistics and Brand Management.
As the PT&I Trade Commissioner Adam will be responsible for providing appropriate market support to the Forum Island Country governments and private sectors, aimed at a cost efficient and targeted client driven service in New Zealand.
