Tauranga Internet Leader EOL Boosts Service Teams

Tauranga Internet Leader EOL Boosts Service Teams

TAURANGA, Wednesday 4 July 2010: Leading Tauranga wireless internet company Enternet Online Limited (EOL) - which topped a recent countrywide Consumer Magazine customer satisfaction poll - is expanding to meet the growing demand for its services.

EOL has just appointed well known local network engineer Christian Fassina Costa as the company’s Open Source Network/Server Engineer.  Amongst Christian’s key responsibilities will be spearheading the launch of VOIP (voice over internet protocol) phone technology.

Terry Coles, Managing Director of EOL, says Christian has a huge amount of experience in open source servers and services.  “He’s an excellent addition to the company’s engineering teams at this time,” says Coles.

Before joining EOL, Christian worked in a variety of roles for Technologywise Ltd (NZ), and for similar firms in Brazil. His qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

EOL also hired Mark Cornwell as Technical Solutions Manager, to join the firm’s business focused service team. Mark’s background includes various roles with Orb Communications, including account management. Before that he had 5 years with Telecom as a technician.

“Mark is a well-qualified telecoms technician with 20 years experience within the industry,” says Coles.

As part of moves to boost the company’s service teams, Avinash Perera has been appointed as Wireless Network and Service Engineer. Prior to joining EOL, Avinash was a Technical Team leader for Globe Internet Limited in Malawi. Avinash is an experienced MESH wireless engineer, and holds a BCS certificate in Information Systems Development.

Other recent appointments include Jaimi Webber as a Customer Account Service Representative.  Jaimi, who is continuing her business studies, was a trainee manager in the service industry.

One of the country’s only independently owned wireless internet companies, EOL turned 15 at the end of June. EOL began as a small family business in 1995 and has grown into a New Zealand success story.  Earlier this year it won the 100 percent customer satisfaction poll with Consumer Magazine for an ISP.

EOL has 70 transmission sites and 200 access points from Waihi along the Western Bay coastline to Matata, extending inland for 15km. This gives the company 90 per cent coverage in the Western Bay of Plenty region.
