Symantec Announces Enhanced Subscription Plan
Symantec Announces Enhanced Subscription-based Licencing Programme for New Zealand & Australian Partners
Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced enhancements to its ExSP Licencing Program, which offers Symantec service partners the choice of buying Symantec software in a monthly subscription-based model, providing them with greater flexibility in how they deliver solutions to their customers. The programme is designed to help partners who sell Symantec-based services reduce their upfront costs and accelerate profitability. With no financial requirements for entry, the programme will enable traditional Symantec partners of all sizes, especially small and mid-sized business (SMB) partners, to more easily develop their own managed services offerings.
“Symantec is expanding its footprint in the managed services market across the channel,” said Jeff Arndt, director, Enterprise Channels, Symantec Pacific region. “The new ExSP subscription-based programme offers a flexible, predictable method of purchasing Symantec software and requires no minimum financial investment, making it accessible to our broad base of partners. This new licencing model is designed to match the way partners do business with their customers.”
“By enhancing our ExSP licencing programme to make it accessible to our broader partner base, Symantec is enabling partners of all sizes to accelerate profitability and reduce their upfront investments to support growth. The added benefit of working with Symantec is that partners will have greater flexibility in their ability to couple Symantec security, storage and systems management solutions with their services to provide differentiated bundles that meet their customers’ needs,” added Arndt.
Extending the Model to SMB
Partners
Symantec has successfully offered its ExSP
programme to large service provider partners since 2006.
Understanding that many partners are finding opportunities
in providing managed services to SMB customers, Symantec is
enhancing the existing programme to extend its benefits to
partners of all sizes. The enhanced programme features a
simplified, streamlined process to make the programme
accessible to all segments of Symantec’s partner
community.
“What customers want today is choice and Symantec is committed to ensuring we offer our customers the option to purchase Symantec solutions through onsite, cloud or hybrid models,” said Steve Martin, director, SMB and Distribution, Symantec, Pacific region. “Many Australian businesses, particularly in the SMB segment, are moving toward services based or hybrid cloud models to secure and manage their information. Our goal with this programme is to stimulate and cultivate the managed services market across the channel by delivering an ExSP programme that is not only convenient and accessible but also delivers predictable profitability for our partner community,” added Martin.
Rewarding Growth and Reducing Capital
Expenditures
The programme provides participating
partners with the opportunity for more predictable revenue
and rewards growth. Partners are able to reduce their
capital expenses and accelerate profitability by paying by
the month for only the software they use and eliminate the
need to buy future licences in advance. The programme
rewards service partners for their growth by reducing
licencing costs as their volume of business increases. The
Symantec ExSP Licencing Program is open to partners enrolled
in Symantec’s Partner Program who are qualified service
providers, offering customers a combination of Symantec
products with their own services.
