Microsoft Takes Tech.Ed on the Road

Microsoft Takes Tech.Ed on the Road Tech.Ed Express Roadshow touring New Zealand

Microsoft is taking a condensed version of the country’s largest IT training conference, Tech.Ed, to the road this September and October. Tech.Ed Express will offer IT professionals, developers and students in 11 cities around New Zealand a chance to see firsthand some of the highlights from this year’s main event and provide invaluable insight into how they can best leverage their own skills within the IT ecosystem.

The Tech.Ed Express Roadshow will be travelling the country until 13 October to share some of the top rated content and highlights from the three day Tech.Ed conference held in Auckland during August and September this year.

Paul Lo, Audience Marketing Manager for Microsoft New Zealand says that local experts Ryan Tarak and Nathan Mercer will present highlights of new and upcoming technology demonstrated at Tech.Ed and also show attendees how they can best use their existing skill sets to develop applications for many Microsoft platforms. “With Internet Explorer 9 bringing new capabilities to the web and the upcoming release of Windows Phone 7, developers, IT pros and students from all over New Zealand will be keen to find out how they are able to start working with these exciting new platforms. Tech.Ed Express is the perfect way to achieve that,” he says.

In addition, support from MS Communities, an umbrella society representing over 26 user groups around New Zealand who want to help build community groups around Microsoft technologies, has proven invaluable in bringing Tech.Ed Express to a wider audience.

President of MS Communities, Debbie Ireland, believes the Tech.Ed Express Roadshow will provide a great opportunity for members of the IT community in the smaller regions to experience some of the best that Tech.Ed had to offer.

“After a fantastic Tech.Ed, we are fortunate to have Ryan and Nathan take Tech.Ed Express on the road to give other User Group members around New Zealand the opportunity to experience some of the highlights,” she says. “Roadshows like this are really appreciated, especially in the smaller regions, giving people the opportunity to further increase their skill sets and hear from experts outside their area. It also helps community group leaders to provide great content for their members and shows the continued support Microsoft makes available to our groups,” she adds.

Attendees will be in with a chance to win a Microsoft Arc Keyboard and for every person that attends, Microsoft will donate $3 to the Red Cross Canterbury Earthquake Appeal.
