Ballance appoints new Human Resources Manager

Simon Batters has joined Ballance Agri-Nutrients at its head office in Mount Maunganui in the role of Human Resource Manager, effective 28 September.

Simon has made the move from a similar role at Apata, a leading kiwifruit and avocado pack house business. He has also held Human Resources management roles with Fonterra, Courier Post and for ABB on contract to Tasman Pulp and Paper.

His appointment follows a reorganisation of the Human Resources structure at Ballance, with incumbent manager Mark Hayes moving to a new role as Training and Development Manager to focus on this important requirement of the business.

Ballance employs about 700 people around New Zealand to provide scientific and agricultural advice and products to its 18,200 farmer shareholders, and its wider customer base.

Liz Muller, General Manager Corporate Services at Ballance, said Simon was selected for the role because of his strong technical skills and sound strategic approach to human capital.

‘He is commercially focused and has a pragmatic approach, along with a proven track record in successful implementation to build organisational capability.

Simon has a Bachelor of Social Sciences Majoring in Business Psychology (1997) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Rehabilitation (1998), both from Massey University.
