ZESPRI MEDIA UPDATE

Information provided in red will be updated on a regular basis:

1. Orchards issued with a ‘restricted place notice’ by MAF (#3)

2. Orchards that have had Psa confirmed (#2 – on neighbouring properties)

3. Emails through the ZESPRI Grower Contact Centre to report symptoms or no symptoms (#51)
a) Emails with photos of symptoms (#43)
b) Emails to confirm their orchard is clear of symptoms (#8)
c) Orchard being investigated by MAF (#18)

4. Markets who have confirmed their import position:
a) US – yes fruit, no plant material
b) Australia – yes fruit, no plant material


Important messages:
• Psa carries no risks associated with human or animal health, and does not affect plants other than kiwifruit vines
• Media releases will be made available on the ZESPRI website following media distribution

Key information for kiwifruit growers:
• It is important that growers continue on-orchard activities, while implementing orchard hygiene practices, particularly with movement of equipment between orchards
• It is important that all growers in all areas are monitoring their orchards and reporting their assessment – positive and negative – back to the ZESPRI Grower Contact Centre
• Growers are asked to keep checking The Canopy grower website for updates
