Sacred Hill scores Gold at 2010 Awards for HALO Marlborough Pinot Gris
Sacred Hill Wines has walked away with Pure Gold for its 2009 HALO Marlborough Pinot Gris at the 2010 Air New Zealand Wine Awards.
Halo Pinot Gris was crafted by Sacred Hill
senior wine maker Tony Bish with the aim to bring premium
quality, small parcel wines back into people’s everyday
enjoyment. The Pure Gold confirms Sacred Hill’s reputation
for producing quality medal winning wines that are 100%
sustainably grown and produced.
This particular vintage’s grapes were sourced from the Hell’s Gate Vineyard in the Waihopai Valley, Marlborough which regularly provides fruit for Gold medal winning wines and consistently delivers outstanding quality grapes.
“It’s fantastic when you create a wine that stands out as one of the best. This is an outstanding Pinot Gris that is a true expression of the vineyard and the attention to detail shown throughout the process of growing and making this wine,” says Bish.
Sacred Hill Wines was also awarded two Silver medals for its Special Selection 2007 and 2008 Deerstalkers Syrah Hawke’s Bay. Both these vintages have already received a plethora of accolades from both local and international wine critics.
Silver was also awarded to the 2010 Sacred Hill Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough, and the 2010 HALO Sauvignon Blanc received a bronze medal.
The Sacred Hill HALO Marlborough Pinot Gris is now eligible for an Elite Gold medal, Trophy and Champion Sustainable Wine of the Show Trophy to be announced at an Awards dinner on 20th November.
Sacred Hill HALO Marlborough Pinot Gris is available at fine wine retail outlets throughout New Zealand. RRP $24.90
