Sacred Hill releases two classic and affordable wines

Sacred Hill has released two new wines into its well-liked Orange Label range. The Sacred Hill Reserve range offers premium quality wines created from grapes grown in specially selected vineyard sites in the Hawke's Bay and Marlborough. The wines are the 2010 Sacred Hill Syrah and 2010 Sacred Hill Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

The 2010 Sacred Hill Syrah is a classic vintage, with grapes sourced from the Gimblett Gravel vineyards which had an exceptional harvest.

This Syrah is a deeply coloured and flavoured wine. The palate is fresh and ripe with soft rich fruit characters and a supple, velvety, textured finish. This is matched with beautiful aromas of spices and fruit.

"The vintage was kind to us in Hawke's Bay, and this Syrah is tremendous value with real depth and spice and great texture," says Sacred Hill senior winemaker Tony Bish.

Marlborough has come up trumps this year with an intensely flavoured Sauvignon Blanc. This harvest has been described as a luxury vintage with lower yields intensifying flavours and the overall cooler season ensuring varietal concentration.

The 2010 Sauvignon Blanc has an abundant nose of fresh gooseberry and tropical fruit notes. The palate is a medley of classic herbaceous, citrus and lemon flavours which leave a lingering fresh finish.

"The Marlborough Sauvignons are outstanding this year and this one is no exception. It is a very vibrant and intense wine which is brimming with flavour that has great purity and balance. Both these wines are a brilliant pair for the barbecue deck this summer!" says Bish

The 2010 Sacred Hill Syrah and 2010 Sacred Hill Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc are available in supermarkets and wine outlets nationwide. RRP $21.99.
