Insurance Industry Veterans Launch Innovative New Firm

For Immediate Release
20 January 2011

Time for a Change: Seasoned Insurance Industry Veterans Launch Innovative New Firm in New Zealand

Partners Life - a whole new approach to providing Insurance in New Zealand.

In March, consumers and independent financial advisors will have a whole new approach available to them in meeting their life insurance needs. Years of experience in both overseas and domestic markets – coupled with a keen desire to create a more dynamic set of risk products for New Zealanders - has driven the executive management team of Partners Life to create the new company.

“We have followed the situation closely for some time and just felt that we could do something different” explains Naomi Ballantyne, the newly appointed MD.

“There is a huge gap in today’s market where consumers’ needs are not being met and the independent financial advisor channel is not supported to the level it could be. We will balance comprehensive cover and affordability for the consumer, whilst supporting the independent advisory channel with exceptional customer service and by sharing the success of the company with the advisors who support it.”

“Today’s choices are limited for the New Zealand consumer” states Pauline Prescott, Director of Sales and Marketing. “With the market being dominated by the large international banks, no one is really stepping up to drive innovation for the good of the client, within Partners Life this will be a key focus. We will be rewarding clients with a loyalty bonus in the form of premium reductions over time – basically rewarding partnership for life.”

Naomi Ballantyne and the rest of the executive team are very pleased to announce the addition of Boyd Klap as Chairman of the Board. Boyd has had a long and distinguished career in the life assurance and pension industries, having previously served as Chief Executive for both Prudential New Zealand and for the Life Offices Association. Boyd has also served as a consultant to Price Waterhouse and has been awarded Companion of the Queens Service Order for community service in 1993 and he and his family were named Wellingtonian of the Year in 1994.

Additional details of the new company products and services will be released with the official launch of the new company in March. The corporate offices are now open in Takapuna, Auckland and any enquiries are welcome on 0800 14 54 33.
