BNZ hooks US big fish

BNZ hooks US big fish

28 January 2011

You don’t get bigger in business inspiration circles than Tom Peters and BNZ is bringing him to speak in New Zealand for one day only.

Fortune magazine called him the “Ur-guru”of management and his 1982 co-authored book, In Search of Excellence, is widely regarded as the best business book ever. 15 books and 30,000 Twitter followers later, Tom has seen it all.

"We live in extraordinarily turbulent times, “ says Peters. “Regardless of enterprise shape or size, we have not just 'issues to cope with,' but in fact a matchless opportunity to exploit new tools and conquer new markets.”

On February 23, Tom will share his famed methods for framing old fashioned values in a modern context at a one-off BNZ event at the Auckland Museum Events Centre.

Anthony Healy, BNZ Director – Partners, says “The chance for New Zealanders to hear such an esteemed figure as Tom Peters speak doesn’t come around very often. We’re delighted to be able to help Tom share his vast knowledge of management and business with a local audience.”

This former engineer and McKinsey expert isn’t pulling any punches. His recipe for success is that management is “all about the people and the doing” rather than “talking and the theory” and promises to be a great fit with the Kiwi psyche.

“Superstars will not be the biggest among us--but the best among us.”

An aggressive proponent of IT use, Tom has been credited with shifting the debate on management from the boardroom to a worldwide audience.
