Mike Pero Welcomes New Broker

Mike Pero Welcomes New Broker

A good sport has joined Mike Pero Mortgages in Wellington.

Greg Mackenzie comes to the company as an experienced mortgage broker, having worked in a private brokerage and with three banks, in wholesale and retail relationship roles.

Greg is well known around Wellington. He played representative cricket for Wellington in the 1990s and is now a competitive swimmer in what he calls the “oldies’ grade.”

He says he was attracted to working at Mike Pero Mortgages because of its longevity and unblemished nature.

“The company does a lot of things right and is a marketing success,” he says. “Customers working with this company have the safeguard of knowing they are dealing with experienced professionals who all have a broad range of expertise in different fields.”

Greg says the professionalism of the Mike Pero team is demonstrated by the way the company and advisers were among the first to sign up for the measures required to comply with new regulations coming into effect mid-year.

Greg has completed the training necessary to become an Authorised Financial Advisor under the Financial Advisors Act. He says he likes the way the company’s other brokers have also welcomed the higher level of professionalism and transparency the regulations bring.

As for those customers preparing to sign up for their first mortgage, Greg says his advice is simple.

“Don’t panic,” he says. “A lot of people go through it and they all survive it. There is never really a good time for signing up for that first mortgage, but once you’ve done it you’ll never look back.”
