Singapore Airlines Christchurch Earthquake Update

Singapore Airlines Christchurch Earthquake Update

Christchurch Airport has now reopened, following the earthquake that struck the city on 22 February. Our airport office in Christchurch will be closed until further notice, due to damage sustained during the earthquake.

Passengers in Christchurch must be in possession of valid travel documents before proceeding to the airport and should plan additional journey time to the airport as a result of heavy traffic and limited public transport as well as congestion at airport check-in. Passengers should contact their respective embassies for assistance in obtaining any necessary replacement travel documentation.

The schedule implemented currently will continue, with flight routes amended to include a technical stop in Auckland. Rescheduled timings detailed below (ALL TIMES LISTED ARE LOCAL):

SQ298 from Monday 28 February until Friday 4 March, originally scheduled to depart Christchurch at 1150hrs
Rescheduled departure from Christchurch at 1410hrs, arriving in Auckland at 1520hrs.
Departs Auckland at 1630hrs, arriving in Singapore at 2155hrs.

Singapore Airlines continues to closely monitor the situation and updates on the status of flights will be provided as soon as information is available. Please do check our website regularly for updates.

Affected customers may call our call centre on 0800 808 909 for assistance. As high call volumes are expected, we seek our customers' understanding during this period.
