Callplus Launches Packages to Help Canterbury Businesses Get Back on Their Feet
New Zealand telecommunications provider CallPlus has launched a series of packages designed to assist all Canterbury business customers affected by the recent earthquake become operational.
Around 10 per cent of CallPlus customers have had their telecommunications service impacted to varying degrees since the quake, with around half still not using their services.
Kelvin Hussey, General Manager for CallPlus, stresses that the network is fully available to those who can access it and says the company is now prioritising the needs of affected businesses and providing packages to help them get back on their feet.
“We are committed to helping our customers become operational as quickly as possible with a range of support options. Having seen the devastating images in the media, we understand that simply being able to communicate and keep in touch is a big comfort to Cantabrians at present,” says Hussey.
“We are trying to contact every Christchurch-based customer to offer our support, however we are experiencing issues trying to reach some people due to building damage or people having evacuated to a safer location. If you are impacted, please let us know and we’ll do whatever we can to assist.”
Among the solutions CallPlus is offering its customers are:
- A one month relief credit for those customers who experienced interrupted service but are now operational
- Free set up of re-directions for any advertised numbers (including Tollfree) and special calling rates
- Three month’s credit for all fixed line rentals should a customer need to temporarily relocate
- A ‘Relief Calling Plan’ with special discounted calling rates for at least a month
- A waiver on all reconnection or early termination fees should a business relocate on a case by case basis
- Extended terms if customers are under financial strain
