Online model showcases Stadium features

Although still five months from completion, Forsyth Barr Stadium can be viewed in its entirety through an innovative 3D virtual model just launched on Google Earth.

The model, which is hosted in Google Earth and also available to view through the Stadium website, illustrates both internal and external views of the Stadium as well as seat views and the box office location.

Users are able to fly through the Stadium and take in the different views from each stand and get up close and personal with the ETFE roof.

David Davies, CEO, Forsyth Barr Stadium commented, “This exciting online model will give our members, fans, partners and stakeholders a real sense of the facilities and seat views available within the Stadium in the few months prior to opening.”

Bruce Polderman, Product Manager for 3D at Google said, "Forsyth Barr Stadium’s decision to produce a 3D model for display in Google Earth is a new and innovative way to engage the community. This realistic model will enable people from anywhere in New Zealand, and the world, to virtually visit this new, state-of-the-art stadium."
