Green Sky Waste Awarded Contract for Horse of the Year

Green Sky Waste Awarded Refuse and Recycling Contract for Horse of the Year

Green Sky Waste Solutions Limited has partnered with Horse of the Year Trust to collect all the general rubbish, recycling and horse manure for this year’s internationally acclaimed event.

Green Sky Waste Solutions Founders Bruce Ireland and Darren Green are delighted to offer a whole new way of collecting refuse at this year’s event, treating it like a “village” and having a truck and bins on site to collect every bit of refuse, cardboard, paper and horse manure.

According to Darren Green more than 80 tonnes are expected to be collected and what can be recycled will be to ensure the least amount of refuse ends of in landfill. Also in excess of 100m3 of horse manure will be composted.

“Green Sky’s philosophy is to support the environment and this is the biggest event in the Southern Hemisphere that we’ve been involved in and we are proud to support Horse of the Year in their pledge to be as environmentally friendly as possible,” said Mr Green.

Horse of the Year Show Director Kevin Hansen says this year’s event cost savings are paramount and to have a new company with a new attitude to recycling is to be applauded.

“We are excited to have Green Sky onboard with us, not only because of the cost savings they’ve been able to offer us, but because of their commitment to the environment.”

“We are encouraging all horse float owners, stallholders, traders and the general public to think about the bins operating at the event and where they should be placing the refuse and recycling,” said Mr Hansen.

This is an international event and we want to be able to show those from other parts of the world just how much we care about the “village” that operates from the 15th to the 20th March 2011.

“Green Sky Waste Solutions is passionate about recycling. Together with HOY organisers we are confident of an outstanding event in everyway which includes waste reduction.

Let’s not only do the right thing, lets keep the costs down for HOY too.” said Mr Green.
