Global Insight ICT Jobseekers Intentions
Global Insight ICT Jobseekers Intentions
February
2011
A survey of ICT professionals in February
2011, prior to the Christchurch earthquake, shows that New
Zealand employers will have to work hard to attract and
retain experienced ICT professionals across all age groups.
The results show that almost 4 in 5 people are considering changing jobs in the next 12 months. And unless they are kept interested in their jobs that will become a reality for employers.
Furthermore, it may not be a revolving door policy as good IT talent actually leaves the country (mostly destined for Australia), prodded on by the seeming ease of relocating, higher salaries and more opportunities.
KEY OBSERVATIONS AT A
GLANCE
• 79.3% considering changing jobs within the
next 12 months
• 67.6% would pursue overseas IT job
opportunities
• 82.0% prepared to move overseas within
twelve months
Thanks to all that participated in the survey and we hope that you find the results as thought provoking and interesting as we do.
