Are you up to speed with PPPs?
Are you up to speed with PPPs? If not you should be!
Central government already has one major PPP
project in the market - the men's prison at Wiri in Auckland
- and has signalled its intentions for possible PPPs in
schools, defence, emergency services communications network,
and social housing. Auckland Council is seriously
considering PPPs to help deliver its infrastructure needs.
Increasingly other local councils across the country are
looking to deploy PPPs to deliver better value for money,
lever private sector expertise and innovation and relieve
constrained "pay go" capital budgets.
The New Zealand Council for Infrastructure Development in conjunction with the National Infrastructure Unit and Local Government New Zealand present two high value three day seminars: PPP Principles and Practice.
These seminars are a must attend for both public and private sector delegates who are seeking to understand the PPP value proposition and those involved with delivery of infrastructure projects in the New Zealand market. The programme is modular enabling those with an advanced knowledge of PPPs to gain as much from attending as those will little or no knowledge at all.
Designed to enhance your professional development, the course content will explain the critical success factors in deriving value for money from PPP procurement and will provide the opportunity to learn from the experience of those who have already undertaken PPPs in New Zealand, Australia and the UK.
Facilitated by Dr Andrew Edkins, Senior Lecturer in The Bartlett School of Construction & Project Management at University College London the programme features key presentations on the practical application of PPP from both local and international speakers:
- Jack McKerchar, CEO, Kaipara District Council
- Gareth James, General Manager, Transpacific Waste Management, South Island
- Mark Shepherd, Executive Director, Strategic Projects Division, Housing NSW
- Kitty Mermanisdis, Director PPP, Major Infrastructure Partnerships, Department of Defence
- David McClounan, Project Director, South Australia Schools
- Leading PPP contracting firms and advisory experts in the PPP sector
