Linden Leaves is making a splash in the world of spa
Linden Leaves is making a splash in the world of spa.
The success of the newly opened Linden Leaves Day Spa in Christchurch has provided the motivation for other New Zealand based spas to include the natural, New Zealand made brand into their own spa treatments.
Until
recently Linden Leaves has been known to the spa industry
primarily for its high quality body oils, which are sold in
some of the most quality driven markets globally, including
Japan and Switzerland, and its foot care treatment products
used in pedicures at selected spas
internationally.
Linden Leaves has been quietly moving
into professional spa treatments and their products have
been used in treatments at a small number of prestigious
locations including Aspria Spa Berlin and Hamburg, the
Linden Leaves Spa at the Westin Hotel in Taipei and Smile
Spa in Christchurch.
Since the launch of Linden Leaves Day Spa the brand is noticing a marked increase in interest in its natural facial care and skincare treatment products for spa use.
"Since we originally developed our Herbalist skincare range" comments Managing Director Brigit Blair, "the spa and skincare market has become more sophisticated within New Zealand. There is now also a growing demand for natural products that focus on balance and wellbeing for the skin and the body as a whole, which is where Linden Leaves fits in."
Blair, both a successful, awarded business woman and mother of three, was drawn to the concept of natural skincare when two of her small children were suffering extreme eczema and serious skin allergies. After becoming more knowlegable about the ingredients found in many products and the potential allergic reactions they cause, Blair founded Linden Leaves with a strong philosophy of the importance of quality natural ingredients and integrity of purpose.
The Linden Leaves brand has developed slowly, but steadily, over the past 15 years, into one of New Zealand's best known and best loved natural skin and bodycare brands. "The spa and cosmetics markets are both becoming inundated with new brands every day" says Linden Leaves Creative Director and Brigit's daughter, Juliet Blair, "but despite this, we felt the time was right to move into spa because we realised we were a point where our 15 years of international and New Zealand based experience has put us in a position of knowledge which we wanted to share on a more intimate basis with our customers. Linden Leaves has a really genuine offering of excellent skincare products and being able to present these in a spa environment offers our customers so much more than traditional store-based retail.
Linden Leaves draws from a staff knowledge base which includes both a certified Aromatherapist, Jasmine Pat, and a certified Massage Therapist, Katrina Herbert, who have been working with Linden Leaves Product Developer, Hanna Williams to create both a training system and complete skincare offering for the spa industry. The new range will draw on existing lines and add a total of nine new specialised products to the range and will be launched in Spring 2011.
In the
interim, the Linden Leaves team is busy meeting demand for
training and product knowledge by people within the spa
industry who are discovering the brand, many for the first
time. Lizanne van Tiel, spent the day yesterday at Evolution
School of Holistic Therapies in Whangarei training the
students there. "It was great to see the students were very
enthusiastic" says van Tiel who demonstrated use of the
natural oils, facial treatments, foot treatments and hand
massages.
