Get your business off to a flying start

Are you a start-up business ready to grow? Planning is vital for any venture, and business.govt.nz has a $60,000 prize package up-for-grabs to give the best business plan a flying start.

Business.govt.nz, in conjunction with ANZ, is today launching the ANZ Flying Start Business Plan competition to seek out the best business plan from new or fledgling New Zealand businesses, and help them put their plans into action.

Business.govt.nz Manager Katie Wellington says judges will be looking for viable business plans that are geared for growth. Prizes including cash, social media and web training and legal advice are available to regional winners, along with the national $60,000 prize package.

“If you want to achieve sustained growth and make a positive contribution to the economy, you’ll need to plan ahead.

“Business planning is like a GPS unit for your car. Skip the dirt roads and traffic jams – a business plan will put you on a smoother, smarter and faster path to growth.”

Business.govt.nz is a government website designed to save small to medium sized businesses time and money by putting the information they need at their fingertips.

“Business.govt.nz is a one-stop shop full of free information, tools and resources for business owners and managers. It will take you through your business lifecycle, from starting up, to managing, to growing your enterprise,” says Ms Wellington
