Building and Construction Minister to open new West Auckland Design Centre
Maurice Williamson, current Minister of Building and Construction, is to open Stonewood Homes’ new West Auckland Design Centre at 34 Walls Road, Penrose, on Friday 6th May at 4.pm. As well as his opening speech, Mr Williamson will be spending time with staff and guests during the opening.
Christchurch-based Stonewood Homes is New Zealand’s fastest growing home building company, and has continued its expansion with the launch of the West Auckland Ltd franchise, located in Penrose.
Stonewood Homes’ owner and Managing Director, Mr Brent Mettrick, is a leading figure in the New Zealand construction industry, with positions including Immediate Past President of the New Zealand Master Builders Federation, Founding Director of Green Building Council, and Member of the Government Construction Centre Productivity Working Group. Stonewood is also the only NZ company to sponsor and be involved in the creation of the Homestar Home Energy Rating System.
Mr Mettrick sees the West Auckland opening as an important step in the company’s development. “Stonewood Homes is already well recognised in other parts of the country. But as Auckland is by far the biggest home building area, we see it as a very important part of our business,” he explains. “So we are very pleased to be able to welcome the West Auckland franchise.”
The owners of Stonewood West Auckland, Andy Gray and Tony Parkinson, join two existing Auckland franchises – Jeff Wilson of Stonewood Homes East Auckland, and Stephen Johnson, Stonewood Homes Northern.
A tremendous amount of time, effort and resources are being invested to make Stonewood Homes a national brand, and all three Auckland franchises – along with other franchises throughout the country - are totally committed to making this happen.
