Petrol Prices Fall At BP

The price of petrol and diesel fell at BP-owned stores by 6 cents per litre on both products.

Petrol prices at most BP-owned service stations are:

91 Unleaded $ 215.9 cents per litre

95 Unleaded $ 223.9 cents per litre

Ultimate Diesel $ 157.9 cents per litre

BP Managing Director Mike McGuinness said BP is pleased to be able to pass on the decrease at the pump.

“The international price of crude oil dropped on Thursday night and that has now trickled through to the cost of refined product, so we’ve been able to pass that on at the pump.

“BP monitors both costs and the exchange rate daily and is committed to passing on any benefits of the both the higher dollar and lower product costs to motorists as quickly as possible.”

“The international price of product has been increasing steadily for a while now, and we’re as delighted as our customers will be to see this drop.”

Pump prices in New Zealand are determined by the international price of refined petrol and diesel (purchased in US dollars), the US/NZ exchange rate, taxes and levies, international shipping costs and local operational costs.

[Insert as necessary] Diesel prices at the pump have not changed as the international price of refined diesel has remained steady and has not seen the decreases that refined petrol has.
