Dairy Women’s Network appoints new CEO

Dairy Women’s Network Trust Board has announced it has appointed a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to head up the organisation.

Sarah Speight has been appointed as full time CEO and will commence her role on 13 June 2011.

Sarah comes to the Dairy Women’s Network with a wealth of knowledge having been involved in the dairy industry since finishing university in 1992.

Sarah has held various positions within DairyNZ - these positions focused on education extension, strategy, management and farm systems.

Sarah spent time in Pakistan leading the development of the national dairy extension service and began the process of establishing a vocational training organisation with particular emphasis on growing the capabilities of women.

More recently Sarah has been involved in operation management of large scale dairy farming businesses. Firstly in Chile as GM Production and, upon her return to New Zealand, Sarah has been employed by Kordamentha to help manage the Crafar receivership.

Dairy Women’s Network Chair, Michelle Wilson says, “The Board welcomes Sarah to the our team and looks forward to working alongside her as we continue to provide professional development for the women in the business of dairying in New Zealand.”
