Three welcomed into real estate elite

Three Aucklanders, with more than 100 years experience in real estate between them, have been inducted into the elite Barfoot & Thompson ‘Hall of Fame’.

Helen Hodgson, of Parnell and currently the company’s Rental Operations Manager, Tony Pratt of the Milford branch and Mack Workman of the New Lynn branch are the newest of nine members recognised for their significant contribution to Barfoot & Thompson, the city’s leading real estate company.

Managing Director Peter Thompson says each of the members has a story of enterprise, hard work and achievement worth celebrating.

“True to the family values our company is built on, these new members of the ‘Hall of Fame’ have contributed generously to our company over many years and been integral to our continued success.

“They have each made a significant impact on the company, and the wider real estate market, deserving of our recognition,” he says.

Helen Hodgson

Tony Pratt

Tony joined Barfoot & Thompson in 1982 with a zeal and determination that has seen him work his way through the company from salesperson to Branch Manager. Tony’s dedication to Barfoot & Thompson started from the beginning, when he was so eager to join the team that he took a financial backwards step to do so, a decision that has delivered dividends. Originally joining as a salesperson in the Takapuna branch, Tony moved to the Glenfield branch in 1986 to take up the role of Manager, later becoming Manager of the Milford branch in 1998, a role he still holds today.

Mack Workman

Mack joined Barfoot & Thompson in 1972 as a commercial sales person. Known for his loyalty, commitment and generous nature Mack found his niche as Manager of the New Lynn branch in 1978. Now at the helm of the New Lynn branch for more than 30 years, his support as a manager is evidence by the branch’s success in servicing the local area to the highest standards. Completely committed to doing the right thing by his colleagues, staff and customers, he adds huge value to the company.

Inaugural members of the Barfoot & Thompson Hall of Fame, established in 2008, are:

Terry Costello, currently Branch Manager of Papatoetoe

Ian Gray, currently Branch Manager of Mt Eden, the 2011 Top Branch

Paul Humphries, currently Salesperson at the City Branch

Jim Lambert, Business sales, now retired

Leila MacDonald, currently Salesperson at Remuera Branch and the 2011 Top Salesperson of the Year
