ICE Ideas Conference - Glowing With Ideas!

2020 Vision for Business Growth in New Zealand

It’s been 10 years since the Knowledge Wave. It’s less than 10 years before we need to achieve our goal.

The ICEHOUSE has just celebrated 10 years of contributing to New Zealand’s economy but celebrations alone are not going to get New Zealand where it needs to be. So we’re upping the game to another level and over the next 10 years, the goal is to deliver 1000 of the 3000 globally capable companies this country needs by 2020 to get back into the top half of the OECD. It’s a bold aim but achievable.

On July the 8th the ICEHOUSE will kick-start the vision with the ICE Ideas Conference. We’ll be bringing together thinkers, action oriented people, Kiwis with passion and clever ideas and those from policy and business backgrounds who want to make a difference, who want to get behind the 2020 Vision. We’ll also put the challenge out there for other businesses to take up and through collaboration create a NZ Inc that will drive the 2020 vision. Along the road to the conference ICEHOUSE will announce some major initiatives we believe will help propel us towards that goal.

Speakers at this TED inspired day include:
• Peter Thiel co-founder PayPal, first external investor in Facebook, managing member of the Founders Fund.
• Rob Adams – entrepreneur, VC & Angel Investor and author of two books on innovation, “Good Hard Kick in the Arse” and “If You Build it Will They Come?”
• Soichiro Fukutake – Chairman and CEO of Benesse Corporation, a leading global company in the area of education, language, nursing care and publishing, Berlitz Corporation and Sim-Drive Corporation, owner of electric car technology.
• Rod Drury – CEO of Xero, co-founder of Pacific Fibre, Board Member of NZX and champion for New Zealand High Tech community
• Derek Handley – co-founder of The Hyperfactory a leading mobile advertising corporation which was purchased by US media giant, Meredith Corporation
• Sir Ray Avery – founder of Medicine Mondiale, Blake Medallist and New Zealander of the Year
• Fady Mishriki – co-founder of PowerByProxi, a leading wireless inductive power technology company
• Tim Williams – one of the original pioneers of the Japan internet and advertising industry, one of the first foreigners to list in Japan through ValueClick Japan
• Mark Eglinton – CEO of NDA, a leading dairy industry technology provider that has gone global

To get traction we need to get the debate happening; maximum ideas and interaction are the objectives of the day. Join us.
