Jetstar celebrates two years of low fares around New Zealand
1.7 million low fare seats sold and we’re only getting started
Low fares airline Jetstar is rewarding its loyal customers with a two-for-one sale to celebrate two years of domestic flying within New Zealand.
In June 2009, Jetstar launched its domestic New
Zealand services with a special offer of $1 flights. Since
then, more than 130,000 flights have been purchased for
under $50 within New Zealand. In total, Jetstar has sold
more than 1.7 million domestic seats within New Zealand,
with more than half of these travelling for under $100.
Jetstar currently connects New Zealand with domestic
flights between Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and
Queenstown. From 15 July, Jetstar will commence flights
between Dunedin and Auckland (# Subject to regulatory
approval).
Jetstar Group Chief Executive
Officer Bruce Buchanan said Jetstar has allowed more New
Zealand families to enjoy more holidays.
“We are
proud to offer customers an affordable alternative in New
Zealand, providing the opportunity for more people to travel
more often for less,” Mr Buchanan said.
“We are
committed to providing the lowest fares and keeping the
competition honest.”
To celebrate this special
milestone, Jetstar customers have the opportunity to
‘Take a Friend for Free’ on direct flights to New
Zealand and overseas destinations. The sale is on
now until 1.59am (NZST) 10 June 2011, unless sold out
prior. (#*Terms and conditions
