Bayfair Shopping Centre Announces the Two Faces of Fashion

Media Release June 2011

Bayfair Shopping Centre Announces the Two Faces of Fashion

Bayfair Shopping Centre was delighted to find the Bay of Plenty’s talent pool brimming with eager hopefuls when the search for the Faces of Fashion was launched in April. Women from the Tauranga area lined up for the opportunity to be named one of two ‘faces’ and star in the centre’s first women’s fashion television commercial.

After careful deliberation, the centre is pleased to introduce the two local women selected to represent two different age groups in the Faces of Fashion campaign. Full-time mum Jessica Verran is the face of the 18 to 35 group, and Tauranga Intermediate canteen manager Theresa Comber represents the 35 and over group.

Jessica, a mother of two, enters many competitions, usually without much luck, and was very surprised to receive the call from Bayfair marketing manager Nina Rivett with the good news.

“I was absolutely thrilled to be selected and really excited about the makeover aspect of the experience. As a young mum there isn’t much opportunity for pampering or to get ‘dressed up’. The television commercial aspect was certainly something different, but I thoroughly enjoyed giving the new experience a go.”

Theresa, who has six grandchildren, says she was “a little shocked” to have made it so far, but has relished every moment since winning the position.

“The opportunity and new journey has really lifted my spirits and it is a great pleasure to be involved. Everyone has been so supportive and encouraging. The kids at school think it is fantastic too and keep coming up to congratulate me.”

Nina Rivett says, “We hope our shoppers will relate to the two local women, share their journey and be inspired by what can be achieved in one shopping trip to Bayfair.

“The team was impressed by both winners, who each had a fantastic story behind their desire to be a Bayfair Face of Fashion and demonstrated a real commitment to representing fellow women within the Bay. We thoroughly enjoyed working with them and are excited to see the outcome of our first women’s fashion television commercial.”

Jessica Verran and Theresa Comber took part in the filming of the Bayfair Winter 2011 fashion television commercial on Tuesday 7 June. In addition to sharing snippets of their ultimate pampering day in front of the camera, they each received a top-to-toe makeover including a make-up session and cosmetics, a manicure, a hairstyling session and two outfits selected by Bayfair’s retail professionals to complete their new look.
