Luxury Boat, Car for $1 Reserve

Media Release
21 June 2011

Luxury Boat, Car to Go Under the Hammer for $1 Reserve at Turners Prestige Auction

This weekend Turners Auctions will give car and boat lovers alike the chance to own a slice of luxury for a bargain price at its Prestige Auction.

The auction catalogue includes two $1 reserve lots that Turners is expecting to draw significant interest. The first is a 40 foot, 1992 Fastlane boat named ‘Russian Roulette’, which features twin 502cu/in V8 engines, which have been extensively modified.

The other $1 reserve lot is a 2007 Audi Q7 S Line Quattro, a stolen and recovered vehicle. It has just 64,000kms on the clock and, with some cosmetic damage, is expected to sell between $39,000 and $40,000.

Along with these, and the usual Prestige Auction line up – which features BMW, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Ferrari and Maserati – there are some slightly more unusual finds as well.

Undoubtedly the most unique vehicle in the auction is the 2009 KTM X-Bow. This special vehicle was produced by KTM in partnership with Kiska Design, Audi and Dallara and is thought to be the only one of its kind in New Zealand.

There are also a number of late model American cars, including two 2010 Chevrolet Camaros, a 2009 Corvette, two Dodge Challengers and a 2005 Ford Mustang.

“We estimate many of these vehicles will be selling for well below the showroom price. Smart buyers are looking to prestige auctions to make their dollar go further, and the inclusion of the two $1 Reserve lots means there is certainly the chance to grab a bargain,” says Graham Roberts, Chief Executive at Turners Auctions.

The Prestige Auction will begin at 12pm noon on Saturday 25 June at Turners Penrose Branch, corner of Penrose & Leonard roads, Auckland. Bidders are welcome to inspect the vehicles prior to the auction.

Bidders will be able to participate in the auction in person at the branch, online or via phone bid. To find out more and to see the full auction catalogue, go to the Turners website: www.turners.co.nz
