IAG welcomes Canterbury earthquake land announcements
The announcement today from the government in relation to land areas in Christchurch hit hardest by a succession of seismic events is another step in the journey to recovery for Christchurch, says the CEO of IAG's New Zealand business, Jacki Johnson.
Jacki Johnson said that the release of the most up to date land information would help many insured customers move from uncertainty to certainty around the fate of their home.
"The guidance as to what this means to homeowners, and the options they will have, is equally welcome and will help our response to the needs of our customers in these worst affected areas," Jacki Johnson said.
"While more work is being done on the detail, timeframes are now in place.
"We'll be working closely with the Government to support the processes that have been outlined.
"We'll also be looking to ensure all our impacted State, NZI, and Lantern customers, as well as those with policies through IAG's business partners, understand their options and know that we will be there to work with them to receive the entitlements due under their policies."
